Manual Transfer of files into WM Orders folder
Export/API Orders
http://demo.wmprinting.com/admin/export_orders.php
search the orders by changing date filters (for now keep it this week itself) and click on Manual Transfer.
there is one green icon near order number, which says order transferred.
if that icon is not present means the order not transferred, and for those orders, you can select the checkbox of order and click the "Transfer" button
so it will send those orders to google drive.
Folder Structure
When adjusting files (adding bleed or changing color modes), create a folder called "PREFLIGHTED" and store new adjusted files there.
Imposed files or PRINTREADY files will be in the root folder designated by a _PRINT*.
*Do not get this confused with files that are in the PREFLIGHTED folder. The _PRINT file in the root should be the file the operators are going to print.

File Preparation
Each printer has its own procedures on how the files need to be prepared for printing. Konica printing not only needs prelighting but may need imposing if a workflow program does not exist on the fiery. Roland, as long as it is square, CMYK, and dpi standard quality no preflight is needed unless otherwise and/or requires a contour cut. The needs will vary from job to job, printer to printer.

Preflight Check
- Is it the correct size?
- Is the file low resolution?
- Does it have a proper bleed?
- Does it have proper safety?
- Is it CMYK?
- Is any font substitution occurring, and if so, should it be flattened?
Example: Business Card
Standard business card finish size 3.5 inches wide by 2 inches tall.
A perfectly submitted file would be 3.625 inches by 2.125 inches @ 300 dpi CMYK preferably in PDF format
If all requirements are met you can move on to impositioning. (**Future, with automation imposing and preflight for that matter, will not be necessary and you can skip the next steps)
A. Example of opening a PDF in Photoshop | B. Menu Dircrectoy to Image Size and Color Mode |
Once all these criteria are met you may move on to the next step, which would depend if whether this is to be printed in-house or outsourced to another print vendor like 4Over or A+ Printing.
In-House: Printed materials will have to be imposed on a template designated by the printer and size. Templates can be found in Shared Drives > Production > TEMPLATES > Templates (INDESIGN)
Outsourced: When outsourcing to an outside vendor. Each print house has its own way of submission but the majority it is a web submission from their website through our various accounts that we own.
In-House Impositioning (Business Card)
Normal business card specs are as follows
Quantity : 100-250 (Anything over 250 is outsourced)
Color : Full Color
Size : 2x3.5
Material : 16pt cardstock
Sides : full color front and back
This job would be set up on a 13 x 19-inch sheet, 24 up with 0.25 inches of gutter in-between each card.
A. Front (Page 1) | B. Back (Page 2) |
Export as PRINTREADY PDF
When the business card is finally imposed after the preflight check it is now time to make it into a print file the rip can read and production can cut and box.
Save with a suffix of _PRINT, so the operator knows this is the file to print from the fiery.
